Gloucester, Virginia Hiring Range $38.60 - $53.08/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist is responsible for performing all necessary duties and functions related to planning, organizing, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and PET procedures. The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist is responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images with special attention to radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with patients and radioactive materials. The Nuclear Medicine/PET technologist provides coverage for both departments (Nuclear Medicine/PET) as needed. What you will do Performs a variety of nuclear medicine studies to include all types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice. Follows ALARA principles. Performs responsibilities with a commitment to safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols, using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances. Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services. Maintains records of tests conducted, tests results, and disposition of isotopes and body products containing isotopes. Orders, prepares, calibrates, stores, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for routine, on-call, and therapeutic procedures. Performs quality control on various instruments. Operates various radiation detection devices, and other instruments that measure the quantity and distribution of radionuclides within a patient or patient specimen.

Nuclear Medicine experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (N) Upon Hire(Required) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Inc (NMTCB) CNMT Upon Hire(Required) and CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) Other
