Job Description Summary The Engineering Manager – Global Outage Tooling will lead a global engineering team responsible for the design, development, validation, industrialization, and lifecycle support of outage tooling for Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, Generators, and Steam Turbines. This role is accountable for global priorities, technical direction, resource strategy, execution readiness, Lean operating discipline, and business impact across regions and product lines. The leader will partner with AMRT Repair Development Center and FieldCore to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective, and field-ready tooling solutions. The role requires strong people leadership, stakeholder influence, continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to embed Lean principles into the team’s daily management, problem-solving, prioritization, and execution routines. Responsibilities
Lead the global Outage Tooling engineering team in the design, validation, industrialization, and lifecycle support of outage tooling in alignment with engineering standards, business priorities, and field execution needs. Own global priorities, resource planning, capability development, execution strategy, operating rhythms, and performance metrics across regions, product lines, and customer commitments. Provide technical and organizational leadership for initiatives with substantial business impact, including safety, quality, outage productivity, standardization, cost reduction, and execution readiness. Embed Lean principles into daily team operations and drive continuous improvement through visual management, standard work, structured problem-solving, prioritization, lessons learned, and elimination of waste. Communicate with senior management and key stakeholders on technical, organizational, resource, budget, risk, and personnel matters; influence alignment in a global matrix organization. Develop engineering talent through coaching, mentoring, timely feedback, performance management, learning opportunities, and strong team culture. Ensure compliance, safety expectations, training requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements are implemented within the work group. Required
Qualifications
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading engineering teams, developing talent, managing performance, and building strong team culture. Substantial experience in engineering, services engineering, outage tooling, field engineering, product support, or a related technical area, with system-level understanding of Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, Generators, Steam Turbines, outage execution, or related field service operations. Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering programs with significant business impact, including prioritization, resource planning, risk management, execution discipline, and communication to senior leadership. Strong knowledge of engineering design practices, tooling development, validation, manufacturing, quality, lifecycle support processes, and Lean principles applied in daily team management and continuous improvement. Desired Characteristics Recognized leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to guide, influence, and lead others across functions, regions, and organizational levels.
Experience
defining or advancing best practices, standards, operating models, Lean routines, and continuous improvement habits for engineering teams or technical domains. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using structured problem-solving, data-driven decisions, and sound engineering judgment. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs with strong project management discipline, including budgets, schedules, resources, and competing priorities. Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, and eager to learn. Willingness to travel.
