Job description
Welcome to Haleon. We’re a purpose-driven, world-class consumer company putting everyday health in the hands of millions. In just three years since our launch, we’ve grown, evolved and are now entering an exciting new chapter – one filled with bold ambitions and enormous opportunity. Our trusted portfolio of brands – including Sensodyne®, Panadol®, Advil®, Voltaren®, Theraflu®, Otrivin®, and Centrum® – lead in resilient and growing categories. What sets us apart is our unique blend of deep human understanding and trusted science. Now it’s time to fully realise the full potential of our business and our people. We do this through our Win as One strategy. It puts our purpose – to deliver better everyday health with humanity – at the heart of everything we do. It unites us, inspires us, and challenges us to be better every day, driven by our agile, performance-focused culture. About the role The Scrum Master is accountable for enabling the successful delivery of digital products, platforms, and programs by leading Agile execution across one or more cross-functional teams. This role combines Agile leadership, delivery management, product execution, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement to ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality business outcomes. The Scrum Master partners with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Architects, Tribe Leads, and business stakeholders to drive predictable delivery, manage risks and dependencies, optimize flow, and accelerate value realization. Beyond Agile facilitation, the Scrum Master acts as a delivery leader who ensures the successful execution of strategic initiatives while continuously improving team effectiveness and organizational agility. Role purpose To lead Agile delivery execution across products, platforms and programmes by enabling teams to plan effectively, manage dependencies, remove impediments, improve flow and deliver business outcomes predictably and sustainably. Key Accountabilities The Scrum Master is accountable for: Successful delivery of digital products, platforms, programmes and strategic initiatives within a Tribe, Value Stream or Product area. Improving team and cross-team delivery predictability, flow, quality and business value realization. Managing delivery risks, dependencies, impediments and constraints that impact committed outcomes. Enabling effective Agile planning, execution, inspection and adaptation cycles across one or more teams. Coaching teams, Product Owners and delivery stakeholders to build sustainable Agile delivery capability. Using metrics and evidence to drive continuous improvement, transparency and delivery decision-making. Key role & responsibilities 1. Product & Programme Delivery Leadership Lead the delivery of complex digital products, platforms, programmes and transformation initiatives from planning through execution and release. Drive delivery against agreed business outcomes, product roadmap commitments, programme milestones and investment objectives. Ensure delivery plans are realistic, transparent and aligned to product priorities, team capacity and organizational constraints. Coordinate delivery across multiple squads, workstreams and enabling functions where outcomes span team or organizational boundaries. Support Quarterly Planning / PI Planning, release planning and other integrated planning cycles by improving readiness, scope clarity, dependency visibility and commitment confidence. Maintain clear delivery governance and transparency without creating unnecessary process overhead. 2. Agile Delivery Execution & Team Enablement Enable teams to operate effectively using Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Lean delivery practices suited to the context. Facilitate planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives and daily alignment as decision points that improve delivery outcomes, not as process rituals. Support Product Owners and Product Managers in backlog readiness, prioritization, sequencing and outcome alignment. Coach teams towards stronger ownership, accountability, self-management and delivery discipline. Help teams balance speed, quality, technical sustainability, operational resilience and measurable business value. Create an inclusive team environment that supports collaboration, constructive challenge and sustainable pace. 3. Flow, Dependency & Impediment Management Identify, manage and remove impediments that affect delivery progress, flow, team effectiveness and value realization. Manage cross-team, cross-Tribe and cross-Pillar dependencies through proactive coordination, escalation and follow-through. Improve flow of work by addressing bottlenecks, handoffs, capacity constraints, unclear ownership and delayed decision-making. Facilitate alignment between Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Data, Operations and Business stakeholders where required. Escalate risks and blockers early with clear options, trade-offs and recommended actions. Help teams reduce work in progress and improve focus on the highest-value outcomes. 4. Stakeholder Alignment & Value Delivery Partner with Product, Technology and Business stakeholders to ensure delivery remains aligned to strategic objectives and measurable outcomes. Translate delivery status into clear, outcome-focused communication for Tribe Leads, Product leadership and business stakeholders. Promote transparency on progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, trade-offs and forecast confidence. Challenge plans, priorities or ways of working where they reduce delivery effectiveness or disconnect teams from value. Help teams understand the customer, business and operational outcomes they are expected to deliver. Support value optimization by connecting day-to-day delivery execution to business priorities and expected benefits. 5. Metrics, Insight & Delivery Performance Improvement Establish and use meaningful delivery metrics to improve learning, predictability and decision-making. Track and improve measures such as sprint goal achievement, predictability, throughput, lead time, cycle time, flow efficiency, dependency age, quality and outcome achievement. Use delivery data to identify patterns, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities across teams and products. Ensure metrics are used to support learning and improvement rather than compliance, reporting theatre or local optimization. Support development of clear dashboards and delivery insights for teams, Tribe leadership and relevant stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement actions based on evidence and inspection of outcomes. 6. Continuous Improvement & Agile Transformation Champion continuous improvement and pragmatic Agile delivery practices across teams and Tribes. Support Agile maturity growth at team and Tribe level by helping teams evolve their planning, prioritization, execution and feedback loops. Contribute to Agile transformation initiatives by applying Agile principles to real delivery challenges. Encourage experimentation, inspection and adaptation to improve delivery effectiveness. Help teams move from activity-based execution to outcome-based delivery. Partner with Enterprise Agile Coaches, Agile Delivery Excellence and other delivery leaders to improve consistency and shared learning across D&T. 7. Coaching, Capability Development & Community Contribution Coach Scrum teams, Product Owners, delivery stakeholders and emerging Agile practitioners on effective Agile delivery behaviors. Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and contribute to capability uplift across the Agile delivery community. Contribute to Scrum Master and Agile communities of practice by sharing patterns, lessons learned, tools and reusable delivery approaches. Role model servant leadership, constructive challenge, delivery ownership and continuous learning. Support onboarding of teams into Haleon’s Agile ways of working and product-centric delivery model. Build confidence and capability in teams so that Agile ways of working are owned by the team, not dependent on the Scrum Master. What good looks like Leaders make decisions aligned to Agile principles and enterprise flow Teams deliver valuable product and programme outcomes predictably and sustainably. Delivery plans are transparent, realistic and aligned to business priorities and capacity. Risks, dependencies and impediments are visible early and actively managed to resolution.
