Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne seeks a Facilities Technician to support campus facilities operations. This position is responsible for maintaining campus buildings and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff. This is a lead technician position and annual stipend is paid for this role. Salary Range: $39,136 - $51,675-Compensation will be commensurate with the requirements of the position and the candidate’s relevant experience and education. Lead Annual Stipend: $2,500 Essential

Responsibilities

Provide general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance services. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment, to include boilers, chillers, pumps, and VFD’s. Repair and maintain department specific equipment. Able to perform administrative, professional, and/or supervisory duties Examples include providing training, mentoring, and job assignments to Facilities staff and work-study students as needed Support college departments as needed. Respond to fire alarms during work hours. Assist with snow and ice removal operations. Respond to after-hours emergencies as required. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. Work Schedule Typical business hours; 7a – 4p with a one-hour lunch period. Qualifications

Technical/industry related certification and substantial knowledge, skills, abilities, & related experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems Valid driver’s license. First Aid/CPR certification or the pursuit of at the first available scheduled class Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting (50 lbs. or more), carrying, climbing, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Ability to hear, speak, see, and read on a continuous basis.
