The Performance Lead role is dedicated to enhancing operational performance across drilling, completion, and subsea phases. This role requires a deep understanding of the overall well project and operational objectives, expertise in LEAN methodology, particularly the PDSA cycle, and strong communication and relationship-building skills. The Performance Lead is responsible for aligning project delivery with customer expectations, supporting rigs in successful campaign delivery, and establishing close relationships with customers. Role Importance The Performance Lead is vital in ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and the successful delivery of drilling campaigns. Their expertise in operational improvement, customer relationship management, and leadership are crucial in enhancing our operational efficiency, ensuring safety, and securing future contracts through strong customer relationships. Required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Driller or Assistant Driller (Offshore Drilling Rig). In-depth knowledge of drilling processes and operational improvement strategies. Proficiency in LEAN methodology, especially the PDSA cycle. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement and relationship building. Strong time management and self-organization skills. Advanced analytical abilities, proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Proven leadership and team-building capabilities. Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural environments. Relevant drilling experience and the courage to challenge the status quo. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operational Planning and Implementation: Understand and improve operational performance through effective rig site team planning and learning. Familiarize with operational plans and instructions, challenging operations and maximizing offline activities. Performance Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting: Make on site observations and recordings during operation Take ownership of recording actual hours, non-productive time (NPT), and invisible lost time (ILT) in the Lookahead/Variance tracker. Update and post key performance indicators like the drilling curve and weekly NPT and ILT graphs. Use performance monitoring systems to identify process improvements. Continuous Improvement and LEAN Application: Implement LEAN principles and the PDSA cycle for continuous operational improvement. Facilitate after action reviews (AARs), pre-phase meetings, and lessons learned sessions. Store and centralize all AARs, lessons learned, and continuous improvement process documentation. Customer Engagement and Relationship Management: Engage with customers to align on project deliverables and expectations. Establish and maintain strong relationships for future contract opportunities. Act as a liaison between clients, drilling contractors, and service providers. Team Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on shared objectives. Challenge existing work methods and encourage the recording and logging of lessons learned. Coordinate with service providers and assist in phase preparations. Risk Management and Safety Compliance: Assist crews in preparing risk assessments and work instructions as per the contractor’s safety management system. Administrative and Support Duties: Ensure consistency in the format of performance meeting action trackers and periodic reports. Manage and update the lessons learned tracker, ensuring lessons are not re-learned. Follow up on- and ensure timely close out of open actions in the action tracker. Position Location This role is based offshore and requires flexibility to work in various international locations as dictated by project demands.
