This position provides motivated and skilled Math Tutoring to students in college-level mathematics. This position involves providing in-person tutoring in a welcoming, inclusive environment that fosters academic growth. This position concentrates on providing face-to-face Math tutoring services to students in the tutoring centers at the Marion (Grant County) Campus.

Duties

and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Tutor students enrolled in Ivy Tech’s Math 123 and 136 courses in one-on-one or in small groups following the established protocol in the Tutoring Center. Complete a summary report for each student upon completion of a session. Work with faculty when necessary to ensure best possible outcomes for students. Sustain high quality customer service while facilitating back-to-back tutoring sessions Apply advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve student questions and inquiries. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including faculty—utilizing transparent and empathetic communication to help elevate departmental services and contribute to team initiatives. HOURLY RATE: $17.00/hr HOURS: 15-20 hours per week The above listed functions require various degrees of independence, judgment and discretion, and the ability to be mobile in the office and/or work area. Qualifications

Associate degree or documented proficiency in Math subject matter

Experience

in tutoring with adult learners and a diverse population Knowledge of college tutoring process. Over two (2) years of related experience in a computerized work environment.
