Position Information We are seeking a Project Coordinator III, who under general supervision, provides technical expertise, guidance, and management support for Fort Irwin's cultural resource management program.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and management support for Fort Irwin National Historic Preservation Act consultation and documentation under Section 106/110. - Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive curation protocols and workflows; oversee and lead curation efforts, ensuring adherence to established standards, data quality requirements, and project objectives. - Coordinates project activities including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls. Recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. - Geospatial mapping of cultural resources and other GIS work. - Technical report reviews and revisions. - Develop Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) and Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) plans of action to address inadvertent discoveries. - Assist with execution of tasks within the Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) and agreement documents, such as a programmatic agreement. - Support Tribal consultation, meetings, and site visits. - Track permit and project milestones dates and deadlines. - Assist with documentation and evaluation of built features and structures, archaeological sites, Sacred sites, and Traditional Cultural Places. - Other duties as assigned. Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Five years of related experience in project coordination/administration. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, such that complex ideas, thoughts, and concepts are clearly articulated for both general and expert audience
  • Ability to work productively with a wide array of different people and institutions
  • Ability to focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals. - Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. - Knowledge of standard proofreading. - Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to leverage relationships to influence positive outcomes.
