McGill Writing Centre Fall 2026 Term The McGill Writing Centre is inviting applications for a Course Lecturer to teach WCOM 202-741 (CRN 8528 - 3 credits) - Communication in Management 1 during the Fall 2026 term. Course: WCOM 202-741 (CRN 8528 - 3 credits) - Communication in Management 1 No of lectures: 26 / No of contact hours: 39 Course dates and time: August 31, 2026 to December 4, 2026, Saturdays, 9:05 am-11:55 am Contract dates: August 31, 2026 to January 5, 2027 Location: TBA 3-credit course teaching current rate: $11,479 3-credit course teaching rate as of September 1st, 2026: $11,824 Note about Make Up Days: On Thursday, December 3, the normal Thursday schedule of course lectures, labs, conferences, and tutorials will be replaced by a Monday schedule. Education

•Graduate Degree (PhD preferred) in Rhetoric, Composition, Business and Professional Communication, or a closely related field. •Evidence of having received training in the teaching of written and oral communication for professional purposes.

Experience

Experience

teaching written and oral communication at the post-secondary level or in a corporate context. •Professional experience in the field of Management is an asset. Applicants must: 1. demonstrate an ability to design structured course materials, including learning activities, based on the course description and target audience; 2. demonstrate an ability to foster learning by establishing a positive classroom dynamic, involving learners in various activities, and managing student participation and group interactions effectively; 3. demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the language of the course, both orally and in writing; 4. provide evidence of an ability to use a variety of technologies to support student learning; 5. provide evidence of how they keep abreast of advances in the field of expertise relevant to the course in question; 6. demonstrate the ability to carry out the duties and obligations of a course lecturer in a respectful and timely manner; 7. demonstrate the ability to work with the Faculty of Arts and University administration to address class management issues in a constructive and timely manner.
