Seamstress The Seamstress is responsible for performing high-quality alterations, repairs, and maintenance of uniforms, linens, and other hotel textiles to ensure they meet the hotel's luxury standards. This role supports the seamless operation of the laundry department by maintaining the appearance, functionality, and longevity of all assigned textile items while delivering efficient and timely service. What You Will Do: Perform alterations, repairs, hemming, resizing, patching, and mending of employee uniforms, guest garments (where applicable), linens, curtains, and other hotel textiles. Operate and maintain sewing machines, pressing equipment, and other tailoring tools safely and efficiently. Inspect uniforms and linens for damage, wear, and quality, ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard. Ensure employee uniforms are properly fitted and altered as required. Maintain an organized sewing room and ensure adequate stock of sewing supplies, threads, buttons, zippers, and other materials. Press and finish garments to maintain a professional appearance. Assist in issuing, receiving, and tracking employee uniforms in accordance with hotel procedures. Follow established procedures for handling guest garments with care, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Maintain accurate records of alterations, repairs, and inventory when required. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and departmental procedures. Report damaged equipment or replacement needs promptly to the supervisor. Support laundry operations and perform other related duties as assigned. What You Bring: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in tailoring, dressmaking, or garment construction is an advantage. Minimum 2 years of experience as a seamstress, tailor, or garment technician, preferably in a luxury hotel, hospitality, or commercial laundry environment. Proficient in garment alterations, repairs, hemming, pattern adjustments, and hand and machine sewing techniques. Experience operating industrial sewing machines, overlock machines, steam irons, and pressing equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Physically able to stand for extended periods and safely handle sewing and pressing equipment. Must be able to speak, read, and write basic English and Bahasa Malaysia. Must have the right to work in Malaysia.
