About the position: The Transport, Logistics, and Automotive (TLA) sector within ING Wholesale Banking has the mandate to develop corporate and investment banking business for ING across the TLA sectors globally. The Sector team is responsible for developing business with clients in these industries by providing wholesale banking solutions including financing, advisory services, financial market solutions, transaction services and other products & services to clients through its teams based in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. In the Americas region, the team is based in New York.
Responsibilities
Formulating client strategy and develop / manage client relationships in the Shipping and Intermodal transportation sectors, working with other team members, including product specialists, country coverage bankers and other stakeholders to help with the origination of new business with clients, ongoing client relationship management, leading new deals and monitoring / maintaining existing portfolio. The work envisaged encompasses leading origination efforts, assisting with deal structuring, taking a leadership role and guiding deal team members and coordinating with relevant product teams to deliver multi-product solutions to clients and achieving cross-sell and return objectives. Support MDs and Directors as well as act as lead on transactions in the TLA Team in the origination and structuring of financing solutions, with an emphasis on Shipping, Intermodal Transportation, Rail and Aviation.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to onboarding of clients/ borrowers, KYC, preparing pitches and presentations for new financing opportunities, capital structuring or M&A transactions in the Transportation sector. Identification, development, and maintenance of close relationships with clients as the primary contact. Coordinating the development of presentation material and pitches to clients leading to new mandates. Helping achieve sector income, fee, cross-sell, ESG and return targets, and achieving other financial / non-financial KPIs. Providing direction and leadership to deal teams including ensuring efficient allocation of resources and support in execution. Overseeing client marketing and transaction origination & execution, taking a lead role when required. Identify and monitor developments and opportunities within the Shipping and Intermodal Transport sectors. Training and coaching of junior team members: the successful candidate is expected to shadow Ds/MDs assuming a deputy oversight role over the deal teams junior member teams. Requisite Skill Set: Expertise in corporate and structured loan origination with a special emphasis on the North American Shipping and Intermodal Transportation sectors; Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets; Strong presentation and oral/written communication skills; Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works and coach/train other team members; Collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities; Self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment; Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.

Salary: $185,000 - $240,000 The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
