About this Opportunity Reporting to the Assistant Director of HR Operations, the Staff & Student HR Manager is part of a highly collaborative team of professionals working to effectively administer human resources services to a diverse community of faculty, staff, administrators, and students in the School of Nursing. The Staff & Student HR Manager serves as the School’s subject matter expert and is responsible for coordination of staff and student employment processes and policies including, but not limited to, recruitment/hiring, performance and position reviews, leaves, and associated compliance and process improvement. The Staff & Student HR Manager is also responsible for providing clear and timely guidance to staff and student populations and those that lead and support them. Key
Responsibilities
Staff & Student HR Operations (70%) Manage and/or provide guidance on staff/student recruitment, hiring, and onboarding policies and procedures including job profile selection, document preparation, and review/approval routing as appropriate; leverage and coordinate use of associated recruitment tools and systems (e.g., Workday Recruiting, Handshake, etc) Coordinate staff annual performance, in-grade, and position review processes Manage, collaborate, and provide guidance on staff/student employee leaves, layoffs, and separations processes Work with Assistant Director of HR Operations to develop, review, update, and deliver resources, guidance, and training related to staff/student employment Work with team, School and campus partners as necessary to ensure a timely, compliant, and accurate administration of staff/student employees Compliance & Analysis (15%) Gather, analyze, interpret, and report on data to promote compliance with School, UW, state, and federal regulations and best practices; monitor and coordinate School-wide compliance with required training Ensure documents related staff/student employment are appropriately reviewed and retained according to School and University standards; organize information in an intuitive, sustainable, and transparent manner Participate in relevant meetings, communities-of-practice, trainings, and other opportunities to stay current and competent on staff/student employment information and best practices Communication & Process Improvement (15%) Lead, collaborate on, and/or contribute to the evaluation and improvement of HR processes and policies; where appropriate, lead implementation and change management activities Build and maintain productive working relationships; communicate clearly and collegially to support efficiency and a productive work environment Other duties as assigned Required

A bachelor’s degree Two years of successful experience in human resource and/or payroll services/administration
Experience

Experience
