[What the role is] The Climate Change in Southeast Asia Programme (CCSEAP) at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute was established in 2020 to examine the phenomenon of climate change, its impact, and policy responses across the region. Building on ISEAS’ thought leadership, the programme seeks to advance climate discourse and knowledge in Southeast Asia through research, policy papers, publications, seminars and workshops. Job Responsibilities
Undertaking research related to the phenomenon and impact of, as well as policy responses to, climate change in Southeast Asia Liaising with Research, Visiting and Associate Fellows Coordinating and organising seminars/webinars and workshops Managing publication timelines and meetings Performing editorial work on publications Assisting in the planning, development and implementation of surveys Assist with stakeholder engagement Other administrative and ad hoc duties as assigned. Job Requirements
BA/BSc in Geography, Environmental Studies in Geography, Global Studies, Politics/Political Science, Environmental Sciences, Earth Systems Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Studies, or related fields. Demonstrated knowledge and interest in climate change and sustainability research. Strong qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills. Knowledge of survey methodologies and design is an asset. Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is an asset. Ability to engage in knowledge exchange and communicate research findings to different audiences.
Experience
with budget management. Excellent writing and communication skills. Highly organised and self-directed team player.
