Responsibilities
Execute and review detailed design and Bill of material of centrifugal pumps and related components including sheet metal parts using Creo and Windchill Perform engineering calculations Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility Support product testing and validation activities Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and internal design practices Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, and design standardization initiatives Must have competencies:
Experience
in pump design / rotating equipment (mandatory) Proficiency in CAD tools (mandatory) for 3D modelling, assemblies, and detailing Hands-on experience in fits, tolerance, GD&T and stack-up analysis and ensuring functional performance of mechanical systems
Experience
in sheet metal design is advantageous Strong analytical and mechanical design skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes Ability to independently execute design tasks with minimal supervision Good to have competencies: Knowledge of acoustic design and noise attenuation techniques Exposure to standards such as ISO, ASME, HI etc.
Experience
with pump testing and validation Familiarity with FEA/CFD tools Ability to Python-based design automation and optimization tools will be an added advantage Technical Skills: Mechanical design of centrifugal pumps Understanding of prime movers i.e. electric motors and diesel engines Strong hands-on experience with CAD tools (Creo or equivalent) Proficiency in MS Excel for engineering calculations and data analysis
Education
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
