Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing account management team focused on Clinical Solutions customers in Japan Set clear performance objectives, KPIs, and individual development plans for team members Foster a customer-centric, collaborative team culture aligned with Elsevier's values Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including hospital leadership, clinicians, librarians, educators, and procurement teams Develop strategic account plans to drive retention, adoption, and growth Serve as an escalation point for complex customer issues and ensure timely resolution Ensure customers achieve measurable value from Elsevier's Clinical Solutions portfolio Revenue Growth & Commercial Execution Drive new and renewal sales within assigned accounts Increase customer satisfaction Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and account performance metrics Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions Market & Strategic Insight Maintain deep knowledge of the Japanese healthcare ecosystem, market trends, and competitive landscape Provide customer feedback and market intelligence to internal stakeholders including product and marketing teams Contribute to regional business planning and go-to-market initiatives Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Support teams to continuously improve the customer experience Participate in regional and global initiatives to optimize account management processes and best practices Ensure alignment between local customer needs and global strategic priorities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above Minimum 3 years of B2B sales team management or minimum 5 years of B2B sales or account management experience. (preferably in healthcare, financial services, or other solution-based industries) Native-level Japanese Business-level English Ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships with senior stakeholders Commercial acumen — renewals, upselling, forecasting, pipeline management Strategic thinking — ability to develop and execute account plans Proven ability to coach, develop, and performance-manage a team
