Develop, lead, communicate and execute the indirect procurement strategy across indirect categories and coordinate the full procurement strategy to leverage Japan’s $70 million annual spend Influence, engage, collaborate, and partner with senior stakeholders and coordinate the opportunity of indirect procurement savings and increased payment terms Deliver on significant year over year net procurement benefits in line with the business strategic program initiatives and global category procurement strategies Lead negotiations of complex country level agreements Lead and collaborate with functional partners and legal counsel to establish supplier contracts that ensure functional supply needs as well as appropriate risk mitigation of Stryker’s commercial, data and other supply chain risks Provide strategic sourcing support and leadership for critical supplier management relationships to drive continuous improvement and effeciencies Maintain a deep understanding of indirect suppliers, products, and market trends; actively implement procurement best practices to drive value and superior service from the supply base Partner with function/budget spend owners to execute the sourcing process, including supplier identification, competitive bidding, negotiations, selection, contracting, and performance management Understand changes in local legislation and implement new processes to comply with them Implement measures to monitor compliance to Procurement Policy and business controls

& Special Trainings: Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Mgt, Engineering, Finance or equivalent), required Bilingual - Japanese (native) / English (business), required MBA, preferred. Sourcing/Supply Chain certifications, desired (e.g. CPSM, Certified Professional in Supply Management)

10+ years relevant procurement working experience, with at least 5 years in a medium-large strategic procurement organization or equivalent (or through large client work at a top-tier management consultancy)

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements.
