Job Summary
The Principal Engineer is to independently plan, schedule and lead project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Role involves working with several global manufacturing sites. The Principal Engineer should apply engineering principles to resolve problems of complex nature, from conception to final implementation with team input. Responsibilities
Act independently, with minimal supervision to lead global cross functional project teams. Build the business case for large scale profit margin improvements, supplier changes and/or strategic initiatives. This involves consulting with several cross functions to estimate savings, build overall project timelines and estimate all the resource, capital and operational expenditures required. Plan and lead the execution of large-scale profit margin improvements, supplier changes and/or strategic initiatives. This includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules, interfacing with development groups and technical support groups. Monitor and report project progress and costs including capital and cross-functional expenses. Manage ambiguity within the project by breaking down complex tasks into simpler smaller tasks. Coach and lead a team of one or two engineers through the planning and execution of a small project or defined piece of a larger project. Lead complex problem-solving initiatives and implement CAPA as necessary. Apply industry recognized tools and processes for problem solving (e.g. DMAIC, FMEA, DOE, Statistical Analysis). Prioritize between tasks based on priority. Display a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside primary area of expertise (e.g. material qualification, regulatory). Pro-actively and clearly communicate project status with core team and all levels of management. Writing of technical documentation in support of project deliverables and requirements, such as protocols, reports, and change control supporting documents. Occasional travel may be required.

Bachelor's in Engineering (Hons.)/ or Science and 5 - 8 years related experience.
