Be the First to Apply Job Description Senior Manager - Packaging DevelopmentThe incumbent will be responsible for obtaining the best and cost effective packaging for existing and new products. This position will be responsible for strategy designing around innovation and sustainability in packaging. Observing, analyzing and research market trends and new age packaging for FMCH (Fast Moving Consumer Healthcare) business for OTC, BPC and baby care category. Develop and implement scientific and efficient packaging process for PCH Product portfolio. •Lead Packaging Design & Development for diverse portfolio ranging from Personal care, Home Care, Food Supplement, Baby Care, Commodity Products, Medical Devices and Self-Care medicines. •Lead & Develop all the NPD projects as per marketing brief with value addition inputs for topline growth and Deliver Value Engineering projects for bottom-line consolidation. •Development and Integration of “innovations” in packaging. •Interpret technical briefs ensuring innovative and technologically competent solutions, which are in line with the project brief, customer expectations, operational constraints and commercial needs. •Coach and guide team on critical issues, problems and enable team for right decision making. •Cost negotiations and cost finalization for NPD projects. •Vendor Management: Identification and Evaluation of new vendors based on technical audit, proximity to Manufacturing site and supply chain network •Stay on top or ahead of new trends, market opportunities, and developments in packaging materials, processes, conversion and decoration techniques. •Strategize & Lead all sustainability initiatives in packaging. •Lead all EPR related activities including finalization of agency, classification of packaging data etc. •Development of recyclable structures of laminates, soap wrappers and tubes •Incorporation & development of use of PIR films and PCR resins in films and plastic bottles. •Continuous Improvement projects for increased output and efficiency. •Responsible for reviewing and creating new SOPs for all critical activities under the purview of packaging •Hands on experience with consumer packaging formats in BPC and baby category •Ability to bring premiumization through packaging •Identifying new vendors and designs for differentiated packaging •Responsible for defining Technical specifications for packaging materials •Responsible to deliver project timelines for task that involve packaging and ability to work in micro soft project environment •Responsible to keep track of price movements of packing materials & Deliver cost savings by working on packaging material optimization projects •Coordinate activities at various stages of packaging development with cross functional team members, factories and vendors. •Developing artworks for the packing materials in line with Marketing requirements and responsible for final printing •People Management and Development •Empower team members to move across existing opportunities and take on responsibilities independently.
