JOB SUMMARY The Energy Educator will engage in discussions with the customer about their energy use and tips for reducing energy consumption. This field-based position includes travel to the homes, meeting with the customer, installing measures such as lightbulbs and thermostats, completing paperwork, and using a handheld tablet to input energy saving measures accurately, recommendations and interface with multiple databases and outlook interfaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Energy Educator will install energy savings products such as programmable thermostats, LED Light bulbs, power saving energy strips, water heater pipe insulation, water saving products, based on customer needs.

The assessment and direct installation of products will be conducted with the goal of increasing customer energy efficiency. Be able to recommend other utility programs for the customer to participate in. Performs related work as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Be a minimum of 21 years of age

Valid Driver's License with clean driving record

Ability to travel locally in company vehicles

Related training and/or experience in maintenance, weatherization and/or energy efficiency principals and techniques preferred. Customer service experience desired

6 months – 1 year of utilities, HVAC, residential construction, energy knowledge or relevant experience.

Building Science Principles Certification preferred, ability to obtain certification within 3-6 months, training will be provided

Physically able to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various home environments Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
