Plans and directs certain phases in a research project.

Responsibilities

  • Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins. Cloning and expression of proteins of interest. Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.
  • Conducting High Throughput Screening using EchoMS and Plate Readers.
  • Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.
  • Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.
  • Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
  • Assists with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.-Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Cloning and expression of proteins. High Throughput Screening. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Good interpersonal skills, professionalism and competency. Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment. Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
