Job description

Work Flexibility: Hybrid General Description: The Quality Engineering Co-op will work with Advanced Quality Engineers (AQE) and Post-Market Quality Engineers (QE) to ensure we develop the right products up front – evaluate risk, ensure our customers’ user needs are met, and help drive craftsmanship, safety, durability and reliability into the product. On the post-market side, we also work closely with regulatory to handle any complaints and implement design changes, as needed, to address quality issues. The role requires someone who has great communication, problem-solving, and technical skills. This co-op role is for minimum 8 months with possibility for extension.

Essential Functions

Assist in the design and development of a range of endoscopy and open field imaging devices and accessories Participate as part of the quality engineering team in all phases of development - from proof-of-concept to product launch and post-market complaint handling and product improvements. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, R&D, regulatory, test lab and manufacturing. Will work with third-party suppliers and contractors to produce prototypes, run tests and document findings. Lead in house testing, including creation of protocols, fixtures, running the tests and documenting results. Identify and resolve complex product design issues by driving root cause investigations, design tradeoff decisions, and design changes with documented rationale. Perform requirements analysis, design review, threat modeling, and cybersecurity and safety risk assessments aligned with design controls. Participate and assist in design validation and human factors testing in an animal lab setting to evaluate product safety and performance with end users. QUALIFICATIONS:

Fourth year or graduate Bachelor’s degree Engineering student or Master’s degree Engineering student.

Experience

with design controls, risk management, and verification/validation planning for electro mechanical products.

Experience

working within highly regulated industries with formal quality systems and design documentation practices (e.g., ISO 13485 or comparable industry standards). Knowledge: Hands‑on experience evaluating and testing: Electronic designs, including printed circuit board assemblies and subsystems Mechanical designs and technical drawings Software code (C, C++, C#) Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint Strong experience accessing and compiling data from multiple sources Ability to effectively communicate ideas / concepts and document findings. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
