This position reports to: HSE Specialist __ Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory) In this role, you will enhance and improve Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain. The work model for the role is: #LI-OnSite This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. You will be mainly accountable for: Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor health, safety, and environmental performance. Review and refine metrics to align with evolving operational goals and regulatory requirements. Establish a structured framework for identifying, documenting, and tracking corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments. Conduct thorough reviews of applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, STPS, PROFEPA in Mexico). Ensure site operations are compliant through gap analyses, legal registers, and periodic audits. Lead and support Management of Change (MoC) processes. Ensure that changes in equipment, processes, materials, or personnel are evaluated for HSE impacts. Facilitate risk assessments, documentation updates, and training to maintain compliance and prevent unintended consequences Coordinate and conduct investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors. Use structured methodologies to identify contributing factors and root causes. Document findings clearly and develop corrective actions that address systemic issues. Design and launch awareness campaigns, training programs, and engagement activities that promote a strong HSE culture. Tailor messaging to different organizational levels—from shop floor to leadership. Plan and execute internal audits of the HSE management system to assess compliance, identify improvement areas, and ensure alignment with ISO standards. Document findings and follow up on corrective actions.

Qualifications

for the role (Mandatory) Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sustainable Development Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar. 2+ years of experience in similar roles as HSE Specialist (Safety).

Experience

in manufacturing environment. Lead or internal auditor for ISO 45001 & 50001.

Experience

in risk analysis. Federal regulatory knowledge (STPS, PASST).

Experience
