Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality educational and professional development curricula that support the mission of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center. The position focuses on creating evidence-based learning experiences, training materials, and instructional resources for juvenile justice professionals, educators, youth-serving organizations, policymakers, and community stakeholders. The Curriculum Coordinator ensures that all training and educational products reflect current research, best practices, state and federal standards, and the evolving needs of the juvenile justice workforce. This position collaborates with subject matter experts, researchers, practitioners, and community partners to translate research into engaging, practical, and measurable learning experiences. The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Design and Development - Design, develop, and revise training curricula, instructional materials, facilitator guides, participant manuals, and online learning resources. Develop and update annual training curricula. Create facilitator and participant training materials. Instructional Design - Utilize youth and adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create engaging educational experiences. Develop instructor-led, virtual, hybrid, and self-paced learning programs. Research and Content Development - Develop resource guides, toolkits, policy briefs, and educational publications. Review and synthesize current research literature, policy developments, and emerging best practices. Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement - Develop evaluation tools to assess training effectiveness and learning outcomes. Analyze participant feedback and performance data to improve curriculum quality. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with juvenile justice agencies, probation departments, educational institutions, and community organizations. Participate in advisory committees, planning groups, and program development teams. Training Support and Facilitation - Assist with pilot testing and implementation of newly developed curricula. Train instructors and facilitators on curriculum content and delivery methods. Performs other duties as assigned. Required

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field. Five years of related experience Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of BLOOMS, instructional design models, adult learning principles, and graphic design. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Criminal Justice, Instructional Design, Public Policy, or a related field.

Experience

working with a state’s juvenile justice department, juvenile probation departments, schools, or youth-serving organizations. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and evidence-based intervention programs.

Experience

developing online and blended learning courses. Familiarity with continuing education accreditation and certification standards.

Experience

conducting training needs assessments and program evaluations. Bi-lingual (Spanish). Understanding of juvenile justice systems, youth development, or community-based prevention programs. Strong research and editing skills. Ability to design engaging and interactive learning experiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and instructional design technologies. Strong project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
