Waste Connections of Washington, Inc. is currently hiring a Recycling Advocate to join our team in Vancouver, WA. Schedule is Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with occassional weeknight/weekend work. Wage will be $24.00/hour Safety Sensitive: YES Our Recycling Advocate will focus on the curbside contamination reduction plan. This position will be visiting residential homes to educate and improve overall quality of recyclable and organic materials in Clark County. Visiting assigned areas on collection day and placing informational tags on recycling & organics carts. Delivering educational materials via mail, email, in-person, and phone calls. Accurately collecting, analyzing, and reporting data and other information. Responding to questions and concerns from customers in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner. Tabling at events on nights/weekends and assisting other staff with small projects. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Familiarity with the Clark County region and recycling practices. Ability to make judgement calls to maintain safety while walking and driving along streets. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk long distances and up and down numerous flights of stairs. Ability to drive a vehicle for long durations of time. Ability to lift up to 25lb-boxes and other equipment using proper lifting techniques. Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record. Applicant must successfully pass criminal background check, drug panel screening and have an acceptable motor vehicle report to be eligible for this position. Logistics: 40 hour work-week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This is a full time position with a comprehensive benefits package including health care after 90 days and 401k after one year.
