Job description

Borden Hauling – a Waste Connections company – has an immediate opening for a PM Mechanic to join the team in Elkhart, IN. Our PM Mechanic will perform routine preventative maintenance services on garbage trucks, and support senior technicians. Waste Connections offers: Competitive compensation. Plans – Flexible Spending Accounts & Health Savings Account options. Generous matching 401(K). Pay Rate: $24.00/hr plus $4/hr shift diff. Approximately 10 or so hours of overtime weekly. (Overtime is time and a half after 40 hrs) Schedule: 3:30pm start time averaging approximately 10 hours per day. Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Execute preventative maintenance inspections and services on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment: change engine oil, filters, inspect brakes, suspension components, lights, belts, tire pressure, and more. Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles. Complete inspection reports and maintenance documentation accurately Identify and report potential mechanical issues to supervisors and diesel techs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
