Job Description Summary Each part-time faculty member reports to a chair or director, satisfies criteria for accreditation, possesses subject matter expertise, and has the following instructional and institutional responsibilities: • Designing courses, delivering instruction, evaluating student learning, and incorporating college-required technology. • Possessing subject matter expertise and engaging in ongoing professional development. • Maintaining effective communication within the College and the department or program. Job Description Salary is determined per the SF Salary Schedule. Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Respiratory Care will develop, prepare and teach Respiratory Care coursework. Faculty may be assigned to SF's main Northwest campus or at any of the program's clinical affiliate locations. Additionally, course offerings may be taught during the day, evening, or online. Candidates must have the flexibility to teach assigned time and format at any site throughout the academic year. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to reach a diverse student population, flexibility, willingness to work with others, and an interest in the integration of classroom and clinical experience. The candidate's primary function will be to teach laboratory and clinical courses in Respiratory Care.

Duties

Develops, delivers and updates program courses (didactic, lab and clinical) as needed, in accordance to community input, Department of

Education

frameworks and accreditor's standards. Reviews all lesson plans for didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences to facilitate the achievement of program goals. Assists with preparing lab setups. Provides in-services on critical skills performed by the respiratory therapist in the patient care environment. Completes formative evaluations of students in the didactic, lab, and clinical environments using program evaluation methods. Assists in clinical orientation of respiratory care students. Assists in recruitment activities of the program. Works with the Director of Clinical

Education

to coordinate clinical education with didactic education. Provides opportunities for students to participate in a variety of lab and/or clinical activities. Understands and enforces school and program policies. Maintains current knowledge of respiratory care practice and educational methodologies within higher education via appropriate workshops, seminars, courses and educational conferences. Maintains good standing with credentialing and licensing bodies. Assists and advises students with academic, clinical, and professional issues. Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement. Perform other duties as assigned. Reports to: Chair, Allied Health Programs

Qualifications

Required: Must have earned at least an associate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Hold a valid NBRC RRT credential and current Florida state RT license. Have a minimum of one-year experience as an RRT in clinical respiratory care. Additional

The Adjunct Assistant must have the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization, communicate effectively and possess proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications.
