Duties
The MUSiC Facilities Engineer will be primarily responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, safety, potential procurement, and installation of the cleanroom and the preparation and interaction of the facility (exhaust, cooling water, DI/RO water systems, process gases, chemicals, abatement systems, building MEP systems) with the fabrication equipment from installation to operation. The position will work with UA EHS to ensure that the facilities and cleanroom function in accordance with safety requirements and codes, and the requirements of semiconductor process equipment. The position will work with equipment engineers, process engineers and fab managers to integrate facilities into the various MUSiC Fab equipment in both the Backend operations cleanroom facility and the Main production facility cleanroom at the University of Arkansas. There will be an aspect of the position which will overlap with the equipment engineers such that if equipment is down, the Facilities and Process Engineer and the Equipment Engineer will be responsible for completing the maintenance and returning the tool to production. This position will also support research and aid in the development of low volume R&D prototyping for purposes of advancing the state of the art as well as being compatible with the needs of industrial advancement in the field. This position will report directly to the MUSiC Facilities Manager. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is weather essential and will require being on call (24/7) for emergency response on a rotating schedule. HAZMAT training will be provided and is required for this position.
