About the opportunity Join QIAGEN as a Senior Category Buyer on a 6-month contract, where you will play a key role in delivering procurement excellence across Professional Services and Indirect Categories. In this position, you will lead end-to-end sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and support the execution of global category strategies at a local level. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact across categories including HR services, marketing, communications, agency partners, and events. Your tasks include Execute global and regional sourcing strategies while managing local procurement activities for assigned indirect spend categories. Lead end-to-end sourcing projects, including spend analysis, market research, supplier identification, RFQs/RFPs, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations. Build and manage strong supplier partnerships, driving performance, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective, value-focused procurement solutions. Conduct market and supplier benchmarking to identify savings opportunities, mitigate risks, and support procurement KPIs. Support the development, implementation, and execution of category strategies aligned with QIAGEN’s procurement governance and processes. Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, transparency, stakeholder experience, and operational excellence. Your profile Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline. 4–5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably within Professional Services and Indirect Categories. Demonstrated experience in supplier management, contract negotiations, sourcing events, and stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global, matrixed, and cross-functional environment. Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
