The Sr. Maintenance Technician – Electrical is a critical, hands-on role responsible for the electrical reliability, troubleshooting, and optimization of LEMO bag‑making equipment and supporting production systems. This role requires deep electrical expertise with strong mechanical aptitude to support high‑speed manufacturing operations. The technician will act as a technical leader on shift, responding to breakdowns, driving preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of production equipment. Responsibilities
Electrical Systems (Primary Focus) - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems, including: PLC-controlled machinery Servo motors and drives, VFDs, Sensors, encoders, relays, and control panels AC/DC motors and motor controls Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings Install, replace, and program VFDs and electrical components as required Perform electrical testing using meters, megohmmeters, and diagnostic tools Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, and plant safety standards Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LEMO bag‑making machines Respond quickly to electrical faults impacting LEMO equipment uptime Perform electrical PMs specific to high‑speed converting equipment Support machine startups, changeovers, and upgrades related to LEMO systems Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures and recommend corrective actions Communicate machine conditions and repair status clearly to production leadership Document all work accurately in the CMMS system Perform limited mechanical repairs (bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics) as needed Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Provide technical guidance to junior maintenance technicians and operators Promote safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance Maintain strong cross‑functional communication with operations and supervision Required
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong electrical focus LEMO Machine Expertise (Required) Hands‑on experience working on LEMO bag‑making machines (required) Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems
Experience
installing and maintaining VFDs and motor control systems Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation Working knowledge of CMMS systems High school diploma or GED Preferred Skills &
Qualifications
Technical certification or trade school training (Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field)
Experience
in plastics manufacturing, converting, or extrusion environments Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency with VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial controls Working knowledge of CMMS systems Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly Prior senior or lead technician experience preferred Strong safety awareness and adherence to LOTO and OSHA standards Physical & Work Environment
