Job Summary
Security Officer; works with minimal supervision. It is the responsibility of the Security officer to secure the premises and personnel by patrolling the property; monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points. Prevent losses and damages by observing, detecting and reporting irregularities. Communicates and works closely with all other departments in the coordination of departmental activities and requests.
Essential Functions
1. Reports to Security Manager for overall job performance. Works with all members and staff from the hospital as well as the Security department. 2. Assigned to fixed posts and hospital patrol. Covers vacant positions due to no-shows, vacation, holiday, sick time and any other emergencies that may develop that require immediate coverage. 3. Courteous, pleasant, and helpful to the general public and Hospital staff. Must be able to handle some tasks not necessarily security related. 4. Conducts training exercises for fire drills, code silver drills, code pink and code gray alarms. 5. Assures compliance with all hospital and security department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High School Required 1-3 years
Experience
in a hospital setting as a Security guard. Previous experience in law enforcement, Firefighter or Security Officer in a Health Care Facility preferred. Preferred Must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities. Ability to relate well to all types of people and act in a positive and supportive manner. Reacts in a flexible manner under unusual circumstances, which may alter normal routines. Demonstrates good judgement and common sense.
