Primary Purpose: Manage and lead Product Development team to ensure product aesthetic, quality, construction, cost and timeline from proto till Product Approval. Collaborate with cross functional teams to create synergies, maintain high quality product and meet the corporate timeline throughout the early development to commercialization process. Key Focus Point: Product Design aesthetic Quality standard Costing Margin goal Sample timeline management Team workload management Product and Cost Management Manage the day to day product development process of the team based on priorities that align with PD leads’ strategy. Manage the overall in season communication with team on Design updates, standards, and overall product consistency. Identify the issues/risks in DC scrubbing and lead the conversation with sample facilities, engineer and NY team for possible solutions. Identify the sub material to be used during development. Guide the team to collaborate with MM Team and engineer on new material testing, accessing any risks ahead and best practices. Lead the team to work with SPs, outsroucing supplier and engineer on FG testing to meet Tapestry requirements. Colloborate with Planning Team and Production Team for leadtime, timeline discussion. Anticipate and drives issue resolution to ensure the consistency, aesthetics and the integrity of products. Drive innovations by elevating to PD Lead new techniques and ideas identified with the team during market researching, SPs and/or 3 parties visits. Be the main contact person to SPs for question of development, co-ordinate smooth transmission of information to other teams and allow cross functional works effectiveness. Drive costing and develops strategies to meet/exceed margin requirements. Identify process to improve margins without modified Coach esthetic. Assist PD lead on cost saving initiatives by providing the ideas and data. Lead the team to work with Packaging Team on packaging instruction finalization to ensure the finished goods are well packed in transit while meeting Design intent. Lead the handover meeting with Production Team and SPs to ensure the design intent is clearly understood and properly followed in production. Build strong partnership with SPs, effective relationship with Raw Material and Production teams. Project & Data Management Manage and maintain information required for tools which need to be used by cross function teams. Provide the accurate data of sample and cost by season/milestones to PD leads. Collect the performance of sample facilities, outsourcing suppliers and SPs in day to day work for KPI report for PD leads. Work on Complexity and Difficulty rating for every newness for Planning to make the allocation effectively and properly. Team talent management Develop and create high performing team. Establish talent development goals and actions plan with aligning with PD lead. Throughout team meeting track progress on performances and communicate upwards to PD Lead. Manage the team workload in line with the PD Lead on sampling planning and timelines. Identify, build, coach and develop talents among the team. Partnership with engineering to use Engineering manual as a tool in elevating PD members product making knowledge. Additional Make the strategy for outsourcing from capability, capacity, leadtime and costing aspects at the beginning of development. Oversee the product consistency cross seasons. Monitor the cost margin of Top 20 every season and lead the team to seek out the opportunity of cost saving. Hind sight the process constantly and provide the pratical ways for streamlining and improving the efficiency to PD leads.
