[What the role is] This role is with the Water Reclamantion (Network) Department. Management of used water network in Singapore is key in safeguarding public health and water resources. Used water is also a water resource. By collecting every drop of used water and ensuring every drop is fit for recycling, NEWater is produced as a sustainable source of supply to meet Singapore’s water demand. You will be part of the team responsible for catchment planning and management of our used water network. [What you will be working on] As an Assistant Engineer in the Planning & Design Division, you will ensure the used water network is adequate and available to serve the upcoming developments in Singapore. Your main roles and responsibilities would include: Using Geographic Information System (GIS) software (ArcGIS) to update planning information of upcoming developments. This involves accurate and fast data entry of attributes such as polygon shape, land use, plot ratio, completion dates. Using in-house software to conduct numerical analysis of sewer utilisation, and identify areas in Singapore where new sewers would be required. Preparing written replies. This involves processing submission by private developers and public agencies, and providing technical advice on sewerage related matters and sewer connections in accordance with our Code of Practice on Sewerage and Sanitary Works.
