We are seeking an experienced, talented, and energetic Industry Technology Specialist within Oils & Fats Processing to join our Technical Service Team. To best support our customers, this role may be based either at our North America site in Franklinton, North Carolina or remotely from a home office located within the successful candidate's customer territory.
Experience
operating or managing vegetable oil or biodiesel plants, combined with process engineering expertise, will be considered a strong advantage. You will become part of a team of industry specialists supporting Oils & Fats Processing, Starch & Grain Processing, and Technical Industries. Working closely with Sales and Marketing colleagues, you will help drive the implementation of innovative enzyme technologies that are transforming the North American vegetable oil industry. The Role & Your Impact In this role, you will collaborate directly with customers to implement biotechnology solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, lower energy consumption, and support sustainability objectives. Working alongside fellow Industry Technology Specialists and Account Managers, you will play a critical role in understanding customer processes and business needs, delivering world-class technical service, and sharing valuable industry insights. You will have the opportunity to advance your expertise in emerging technologies, expand your professional network, and make a meaningful impact on both our customers and the broader organization. Key responsibilities include: Supporting and driving the implementation of new and established enzyme technologies across the Oils & Fats industry. Partnering with customers to understand processing challenges and identify opportunities for value creation. Delivering technical support and troubleshooting assistance at customer production facilities. Collaborating with research associates to design and execute experiments that support existing and future enzyme applications. Translating technical findings and data into meaningful customer value propositions. Providing technical training to customers and internal stakeholders. Sharing market and industry insights to support business growth and innovation. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or another relevant scientific discipline. Minimum of four years of experience in a similar technical, engineering, process, or industry-facing role. Strong ability to translate technical insights and data into customer-relevant value.
Experience
working with research or technical teams to support product development, experimentation, and knowledge generation. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong customer focus and a willingness to engage directly with production facilities and operational teams. Demonstrated capability to deliver technical training and presentations. Fluency in written and spoken English. Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North America (30-50%). Experience
with enzyme applications within Oils & Fats Processing. Knowledge of edible oils, biodiesel, renewable diesel, HVO, or EIE processing. Operational or management experience within vegetable oil or biodiesel production facilities. Process engineering expertise related to industrial manufacturing operations. Passion for sustainable technologies and biotechnology-driven innovation.
