As a Principal Platform Architect - Teamcenter within the Siemens Teamcenter Center of Excellence (CoE), you will assist in developing the end‑to‑end operational governance, service reliability, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Teamcenter platform. This role ensures stable, compliant, and predictable operations for a single, globally deployed Teamcenter environment, serving as the operational bridge between business stakeholders, technical SMEs, DevOps, infrastructure teams, and support engineers. The position combines strong service management discipline, deep Teamcenter domain knowledge, and a CoE governance mindset to drive operational excellence at scale. Contributing to an ecosystem of applications that host systems-based design, modeling, development, validation, and transfer to downstream operations that ultimately result in the launch of new medical devices that preserve, protect and restore sight for millions of patients. Based in AGS Bangalore, the Principal Platform Architect - Teamcenter serves as a technical authority for infrastructure‑related decisions and serves as a key partner to DevOps, application, and support teams to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available platforms. Responsibilities

Implementing and supporting the infrastructure architecture roadmap for Teamcenter, Polarion, and associated applications. Assist in formulating standards for environment design and sizing, capacity planning and performance targets and high availability and disaster recovery Designing and supporting scalable and resilient architectures across application and web tiers, middleware and integration services, and file management, storage, and data services Performing hands‑on design, build, configuration and support of PLM platform infrastructure, including: Teamcenter Enterprise Tier, Web Tier, FMS, Dispatcher, and Volume Servers and Polarion application, reporting, and integration services Participating directly in complex platform troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis. Configuring and tuning application servers and JVM settings, load balancing and failover solutions, storage, backup, and recovery mechanisms Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity forecasting mechanisms for PLM platforms. Mentoring junior resources to enable the team to meet objectives. Collaborate with application and integration teams on architectural and infrastructure topics. Key Requirements/Minimum

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of related experience (or high school+12 yrs; Assoc.+10 yrs; M.S.+5 yrs; PhD+4 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English 6 Years of Relevant

Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive hands‑on experience supporting Siemens Teamcenter infrastructure in production environments. Demonstrated experience operating as a senior platform engineer. Strong expertise in Teamcenter infrastructure architecture and deployment models

Experience

with Polarion infrastructure and application services

Experience

with Windows, Linux, Application servers (e.g., WebLogic, Tomcat)

Experience

with Enterprise applications, storage system and file services, load balancers, networking, and firewall concepts.

Experience

with Database platforms (Oracle and/or SQL Server) from an infrastructure perspective. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.

Experience

with GxP applications is preferred.

Experience
