This Position reports to: Technical Consulting Manager II Your role and responsibilities : As an Associate Power System Engineer in our Global Power System Consulting team specializing in Power System Studies, you will be responsible for performing power system analyses and studies to support the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems. You will use industry-standard software and tools to model and simulate power systems, analyze data, and recommend solutions to optimize system performance. You will work collaboratively within an international team of engineers, project managers, and clients globally to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The preferred location for this position is Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for: Conduct power system studies to analyze system performance, identify issues, and recommend solutions. Develop power system models using software such as ETAP, PowerFactory, and PSCAD. Perform power system studies like load flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash analyses and develop protection and coordination schemes for electrical equipment in high-, medium and low voltage networks. Coordinate activities with other team members of the global Power Studies and Consulting team. Prepare accurate, well-organized technical reports and presentations summarizing study findings and recommendations. Take ownership of deliverables to meet client expectations as per the agreed project schedule and able to independently manage multiple projects at a time. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power engineering. A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power system is preferrable with minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar field is preferrable but not mandatory. Fresh graduates with passion for power system engineering are also welcome. Proficient in simulation and modeling software such as ETAP, PowerFactory, or PSCAD. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment. Affinity towards programming (Excel VBA, SQL, Python, Power BI) and automating the daily work routines High self-motivation with ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment Solution-oriented mindset, customer focus and negotiation skills More about us : ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
