This Position reports to: Gestionnaire, Opérations Terrebonne Copilot said: The Buyer is responsible for procuring goods and services to support the operations of the ABB Metal BF plant (Terrebonne, QC) and the operational needs of the GFI plant (Pointe-Claire, QC). Working closely with internal teams and suppliers, the incumbent ensures the efficient processing of purchase requests, order management, delivery follow-up, and the maintenance of positive supplier relationships. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Key

Responsibilities

Procurement and Purchase Order Management Create and manage purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system in accordance with established procedures. Process purchase requests within required timelines. Analyze and evaluate purchasing options to determine the best value based on operational needs. Confirm delivery dates with suppliers and perform the necessary follow-ups. Collaborate with planning, production, and engineering teams to meet operational requirements. Monitor goods receipts and support the resolution of discrepancies related to orders or invoices. Supplier Management Participate in the identification and evaluation of new suppliers in collaboration with relevant teams. Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient service. Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. Assist in resolving issues related to deliveries, quality, or material availability. Keep supplier information up to date in company systems. Negotiation and Cost Optimization Request, compare, and analyze supplier quotations to obtain the best value for the company. Participate in negotiations regarding pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules. Support cost reduction initiatives and procurement process improvements. Perform basic market analyses to support purchasing decisions. Systems Management and Compliance Ensure the accuracy of procurement data in SAP Ariba and/or any other systems used by the company. Adhere to the organization's procurement policies, procedures, and standards. Contribute to compliance, sustainability, and responsible sourcing initiatives. Participate in the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools.

Qualifications

for the Position Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

Experience

in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered an asset.

Experience

with SAP Ariba ERP is considered an asset. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Analytical mindset and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Bilingualism (French and English) is required due to the existing supplier base. This role is onsite five (5) days per week and may require travel between plants as needed.
