Summary The Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is accountable for prescription fulfillment, distribution, and inventory management under pharmacist supervision in a fast paced, high-volume mail-order facility with large scale automation. This position plays a key role in pharmacy operations providing excellent service through high quality performance. The Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician I functions in a multi-skilled environment which requires the application of teamwork, leadership and flexibility. This position will require collaboration with the central call center pharmacy team to coordinate services and will have a low degree of interaction with patients and caregivers. The Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with Baptist Health System policies, federal and state pharmacy regulations, and applicable accrediting body standards. Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician to join our team at our Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Performs all tasks associated with medication fulfillment for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions as permitted by state regulatory and accrediting agencies. Assists in the maintenance of pharmacy automation systems pursuant to state & federal regulations and BH policies and procedures. Performs nonsterile compounding per current guidelines and as permitted by state law and under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Maintains compliance with cold chain and room temperature prescription packaging requirements based on seasonal pack-out changes. Assists in inventory management processes including order review, performing compliant receiving, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation. Collaborates with onsite call center team to coordinate services and resolve prescription issues. Assists with maintaining the pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order and ensures all assigned tasks are completed at the end of the shift. Escalates problems to a pharmacist or manager if unable to resolve independently. Assists in training new staff and contributes to team meetings. Minimum Education, Training and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. If not already registered, Pharmacy Technician registration must be completed with KY Board of Pharmacy by date of hire (no testing is required; only a completed application and fee). Previous retail, mail order, central/call center pharmacy work experience highly preferred.
