Job description

You provide legal, compliance, and regulatory support to Goodyear India by serving as a trusted advisor to business functions. You manage commercial contracts, litigation, and regulatory matters, while driving compliance initiatives and mitigating legal risks. You partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure adherence to applicable laws, support business objectives, and protect the company's interests. Key Responsibilities Legal Advisory, Contracts & Litigation You provide proactive legal counsel, transactional support, and risk management guidance to Goodyear India operations. You act as a strategic legal partner to Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, IT, HR, Procurement, Plant Operations, Quality, and EHS teams on legal, policy, and regulatory matters. You analyze, structure, and advise on transactions while identifying and mitigating contractual and business risks. You draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of commercial and business contracts. You manage litigation matters and develop legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel. You retain, coordinate, and liaise with external legal counsel, review pleadings, and represent the company before courts and quasi-judicial forums. You oversee legal audits, monitor ongoing legal matters, and ensure accurate documentation, record keeping, reporting, and stakeholder communication at business, regional, and global levels. Compliance & Regulatory You collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to assess risk tolerance, identify compliance risks, and lead risk management and compliance initiatives impacting the business. You provide training and guidance to employees on company policies, privacy, competition law, consumer protection, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption requirements. You guide and support manufacturing plants and office locations to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and central laws, while recommending long-term compliance strategies and opportunities. You monitor changes in the regulatory environment, assess their potential impact on the business, and identify opportunities arising from evolving legal and regulatory frameworks. You draft representations, submissions, and correspondence to government departments and officials on matters affecting the company’s products and operations. You draft and review responses to legal and regulatory notices received by the company. You represent the company before statutory authorities, regulators, and government agencies on compliance and regulatory matters. Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities You bring 10+ years of experience in Corporate Legal, Compliance, Litigation Management, and Commercial Contracts, preferably within multinational organizations with manufacturing operations. You demonstrate a high level of accountability, integrity, and professional ethics, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively to strategic business initiatives. You have thorough knowledge of Commercial, Labour, Industrial, Environmental, Consumer Protection, Competition, Advertising, and Corporate Laws. You have strong stakeholder management skills and can effectively influence, collaborate, and communicate with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, external counsel, regulators, and government authorities.
