Katie Lewis and Joseph Burke, along with other faculty at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, on a state-funded project to determine the impact of manure and biosolid applications on soil health outcomes in Texas.
Responsibilities
Leads a state-wide effort to better understand how per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances impact soil health and agricultural systems. Leads field experiments, collects data on soil, water, plants, and climate, analyzes the data, interprets the results, and presents findings at local, regional, and national meetings. Prepares manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. These duties require physical activities, including extensive fieldwork, travel, heavy lifting, and working in extreme environments. Performs other duties as assigned. Required
Qualifications
Ph.D. in soil science, microbiology, environmental toxicology, or related fields, with a focus on soil health. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent English oral, written, and electronic communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. Knowledge of advanced statistical models/tools.
Experience
with large, various datasets.

working with PFAS. Other
