0102 Music School Building Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: The LSU School of Music invites applications for a full-time Assistant to the Director. The successful candidate will serve within the College of Music and Dramatic Arts in a multi-faceted role providing administrative support to the Director of the School of Music; coordinating the School of Music front office, building use, and organizational functions; serve as point of contact for School of Music faculty, students, visitors, and the external community; serve as a liaison between the Director and other campus and community entities.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as Office Manager. Interact with/serve faculty, staff, students, campus and community partners, and the public; maintain office equipment and supplies; oversee mail delivery and distribution, create records, sort and file; schedule the directors’ appointments and travel and process the resulting business transactions; write and distribute correspondence - 40% Perform organizational duties. Organize student awards, scholarship auditions, student newsletter, the Hire a Musician service, flights/hotels for faculty position finalists, catering and logistics for special events or receptions. Have functional competence with the Workday Student information system and a basic skill with Microsoft Excel - 25% Coordinate use of building. Reserve rooms for academic courses, ensemble rehearsal and performance, lessons and practice, auditions; monitor building condition and submit work requests to facility services; troubleshoot building copiers and Boardroom smart board - 25% Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate student workers - 5% Other duties as assigned - 5% Minimum
