*** Work Arrangement/Location: This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work four days a week and will be based at Buffalo, NY, Metro NYC, Wilmington, DE or Boston, MA. Overview: The Senior Compliance and Operational Risk Manager, Corporate Trust & Custody Services is responsible for providing independent second line oversight of Corporate Trust, Custody, Agency Services, Fiduciary, and related Institutional Services activities. The role serves as a trusted risk advisor to business leadership and is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and escalating compliance and operational risks in alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and regulatory expectations. This position leads risk oversight activities across Corporate Trust and Custody Services, including risk assessments, issue management, regulatory compliance, control effectiveness reviews, governance reporting, and credible challenge of first line risk management activities. The Senior Manager works closely with business leaders, enterprise risk partners, compliance teams, and auditors to strengthen risk management practices and promote a culture of operational excellence. Responsibilities
Compliance and Operational Risk Oversight Provide independent oversight of Corporate Trust, Custody, Agency Services, Escrow Services, Loan Agency, Securities Administration, Collateral Administration, and related fiduciary activities. Evaluate inherent risks, control effectiveness, and residual risks across products, services, processes, and business activities. Deliver credible challenge regarding risk identification, control design, risk acceptances, and remediation activities. Assess emerging regulatory, operational, compliance, and conduct risks impacting the business. Risk Program Execution Lead execution and oversight of risk management programs, including: Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) Compliance and operational risk assessments Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) Issue management and remediation oversight Change risk assessments Operational risk event reviews Third-party risk reviews Scenario analysis and stress testing support Emerging risk identification and monitoring Governance and Reporting Develop and present risk reporting to business leadership, risk committees, and senior management Monitor trends, control issues, loss events, KRIs, and regulatory developments impacting Corporate Trust and Custody Services. Escalate material issues and emerging concerns through established governance processes. Support examination management and regulatory engagement activities Leadership and Partnership Build effective partnerships with first line business leaders, Legal, Audit, Enterprise Risk, Compliance Testing, and Operations teams. Mentor and develop risk professionals while promoting strong risk management capabilities across the organization. Drive continuous improvement of risk frameworks, reporting, and oversight practices.
