Support AZ R&D China to form collaboration with: 1) academic research institutes/ clinical centres and 2) AZ Global R&D Alliance. The scope will include identification of potential collaborator, prioritization of collaboration projects, and support & monitoring of projects. The therapeutic areas will cover Oncology, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, auto-immune disorders, metabolic diseases, and rare diseases. Typical Accountabilities Manage the relationship with clinical/research centres as AZ’s preferred partners for pre-clinical and clinical studies, including managing both sides’ expectation and ensuring the governance requirements Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in R&D China ecosystem to expand and strengthen the collaborations. Drive to create and maintain a positive external environment and alliance ecosystem to support R&D China strategy. Understand the alliance needs of internal stakeholders, identify optimal alliance solutions aligned with the R&D strategies, facilitate and consult efficient alliance activities. Acting as the focal point of AZ R&D to all external inquiries, facilitate to connect and align with strategic partners to frame the strategic alliance projects. Monitor all alliance related activities cross R&D China, proactively anticipating risks & needs, and lead resolving the cross-team alliance issues. Coordinate and manage external engagement activities including scientific exchanges, forum, R&D China Science Day, etc. Work with Global R&D alliance teams to develop and implement integrated strategy for key global partnerships and collaborations. Analyse the global site operations & various dept. on their plans and resources, map them to R&D China strategic initiatives, including improving process of submitting scientific collaborations, translational data management & sample acquisition, clinical operations, etc… Increase the visibility of China alliance activities to foster good awareness internally and promote collaboration possibilities externally. Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential Bachelor degree in science with >5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry Knowledge of drug development strategy and process Fluent in spoken and written English. Project management experience and capability, proven experience in alliance/partnership excellence. Willingness to work in a global team across multiple time zones and have cultural sensitivity to influence the key stakeholders. Effectively work in a multidisciplinary and across companies environment. Demonstrated results-focus and ability to deliver projects through influence, relationship management and facilitation skills. Ability to assess and mitigate the issues/risks. Ability to travel globally based on business needs. Desirable A postgraduate degree (e.g. MSc, PhD, or MBA) Have sufficient knowledge about China pharmaceutical industry (i.e., trends in R&D-related policies and innovation; > 5-year experience in MNCs and/ or consulting companies) Have good networking in the target clinical/research centres.
