Major Responsibilities - Reporting to the Director of Landscape Architecture Design Resources, manage Stormwater Permitting Unit and represent the team at meetings within the Capital Projects Division and with other agencies. - Oversee Agency efforts to track and improve Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) applications for the Capital Projects Division. - In coordination with the unit, Stormwater Design Engineer and Civil Engineering Division, prepare, sign, and stamp in-house design SWPPP applications for submittal and approval as needed. - Assist in the timely review of all in-house and consultant led stormwater permit applications for the Capital Projects Division. - Create and/or update design guidelines for stormwater capture, working with other divisions and agencies as needed. - Prepare reports identifying permitting trends and patterns in stormwater permit approvals. - Recommend potential improvements and reforms to the permitting process and implement these procedures within the Division. - Provide basic Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) assistance to other teams and divisions within Parks and design consultants working for the Agency. - Respond to questions/inquiries from the Construction Division to support Construction Division during construction and closeout. - Work with the Director of Landscape Architect Resources to lead and/or assist with other Capital Projects Division sustainability initiatives as requested. Minimum Qualifications

1. A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect and a master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work; or NOTE: Current New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. The college or university must be accredited by regional, national, professional, or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). 2. A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect and four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work. NOTE: Current New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. 1. A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and three (3) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work; or NOTE: Current New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. 2. A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect; and four (4) years full-time, satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work. NOTE: Current New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. SPECIAL NOTE: In addition to above qualification requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project. 1. A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect; and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work; or NOTE: Current New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment. Preferred Skills

1. Experienced knowledge of the New York City Unified Stormwater Rule (USWR). 2. Three or more years working within the field of stormwater management and working on site grading plans. 3. Experience creating and implementing SWPPPs from design phase through construction completion. 4. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite. 5. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and management skills. 6. A driver license valid in New York State.
