Job Summary
Schedule: Per diem This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. 1. Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound Exams Independently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), TEE Stress Echo, portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation. 2. Assess and Prepare Patients for Procedures Review patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care. IV placement knowledge preferred but will provide training. 3. Document and Communicate Findings Prepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner. 4. Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance Standards Prepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies. 5. Support Exceptional Patient Experiences Utilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families. 6. Contribute to Departmental Excellence Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with scheduling and workflow coordination, and meet established productivity and quality standards and other activities as required by department. 7. Aid in the participation of our students precepting as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Sonography preferred American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred New Hampshire locations: Medical Imaging License through the State of New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure & Certification (OPLC) required upon hire
