Job Description: The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Clerk III position. The ISU VDL is a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory that supports the college's missions of service, teaching, and research. As a nationally recognized diagnostic laboratory, the VDL processes more than 127,000 cases annually and performs over 1.7 million tests each year, providing essential diagnostic services that support animal and public health. The Clerk III will be part of a team that supports the daily operations of the VDL Supply Storeroom. This position plays a key role in ensuring laboratory personnel have the supplies and materials needed to support diagnostic testing and laboratory operations. Additional Details Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location: Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, 1937 Christensen Dr., Ames, Iowa. What You'll Do Place orders for laboratory, office, and operational supplies. Receive, inspect, and stock incoming shipments. Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records. Organize and maintain the VDL Supply Storeroom and storage areas. Distribute supplies and materials to laboratory staff as needed. Assist with inventory counts and purchasing activities. Review and process purchasing, receiving, and inventory documentation. Enter and maintain records using university and departmental systems. Utilize computer software and standard office equipment to complete daily clerical tasks. Provide general administrative support and assist with other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications
Experience
using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document preparation and data entry. Previous experience working with case management or laboratory information systems (LIS).
Experience
reconcile billing or financial charges in a professional setting.
Experience
preparing and formatting official reports for external distribution.
Experience
