Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Cardiology Director, provides medical care to patients undergoing Non-Invasive Cardiac procedures, and tests.

Essential Functions

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Advanced practice Provider will have the following job responsibilities: • Performs complete medical history and physical on all patients evaluated. • Formulates the differential diagnosis and plan of care. • Monitors patients’ progress and writes daily notes in the medical record. • Order, screen, and interpret all necessary lab and diagnostic tests. • Writes appropriate hospital orders. • Provides patient care in the following areas of the Cardiology service: PET CT, Radiology Department. • Provides primary and secondary assistance to physicians during hospital tests and procedures. • Intervenes in an appropriate manner in urgent an emergent situation by performing CPR and initiating ACLS protocols until physician arrives. • Adheres to documentation standards, including departmental and hospital wide specific standards. • Attends educational lectures, conferences, and in-services. • Provides patient education regarding hospital tests, procedures, post-discharge care and follow-up. • Performs other duties as required and/or requested based on the needs of the patient, department and organization. • Adheres to departmental age-specific criteria as defined in departmental standard. • Adheres to all Hospital and department policies and procedures Employee Performance Standards: A. Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations. 2. Participates in committees and task forces as requested. 3. Performs other duties as assigned within classification. 4. Assists with the orientation process for new hires.

Qualifications

MSN Required or MS Required or Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or PA Required Must be fluent in Cardiology protocols. Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG NP_NURSE PRACTITIONER - NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT Required or Physician Assistant - New York State Board of Medicine Required or BLS - American Heart Association Required ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required Montefiore Nyack Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
