Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: Please submit resume and cover letter The Assistant Athletics Director for Annual Giving is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning of athletics annual giving, consisting of annual contributions designated towards the Athletics Annual Fund and discretionary funds for each intercollegiate sport. The Assistant Director of Athletics for Annual Giving reports to the Associate Director of Athletics for Development. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT: No or very limited exposure to physical risk. limited physical effort required. Position involves regular and frequent travel/out of office appointments Willingness to work frequent evenings and weekend in conjunction with university events QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills & ability: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, along with the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, in conjunction with the comfort level of working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects required Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment Experience working with and managing volunteers preferred Personal solicitation experience required Skill in use of personal computers, standard office software applications, and fundraising software, with an understanding of database management Ability to maintain confidentiality Valid driver's license with a good 3-year driving history Understanding and passion for collegiate athletics Mature judgment Education & experience: Bachelor's degree required Minimum five years’ experience in annual giving, or a closely related field preferably in higher education, with a proven track record of success Schedule Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm; 38.75 hours per week Salary Grade 9 (Exempt): $ 77,854- $ 107,058 Located just minutes from downtown Richmond, Virginia, the University of Richmond blends the intimacy of a small college with exceptional academic, research, and cultural opportunities usually found only at large institutions.
