Lead Financial Analyst (Inventory)

As a member of the Inventory Accounting Team, this position will be responsible for complete and accurate inventory balance sheet and P&L reporting while complying with Stryker policies and procedures. The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in technical accounting/GAAP, coupled with the ability and desire to apply the concepts to “hands-on,” operational processes. What will you do: Engage with business partners to enable insightful analysis and efficient processes to support and challenge strategic decisions Collaborate with business partners to timely and accurately execute inventory transactions Oversee and support execution of inventory month end responsibilities spread over various team members Calculate, reconcile, and analyze Inventory and Inventory reserves for period close; heavily utilizing advanced Excel techniques and/or Power Bi tools. Prepare month-end journal entries and formulate required accruals in accordance with GAAP Maintain balance sheet accounts associated with the Orthopaedics Division inventory to include gross and net accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Stryker policies Ensure all Inventory reports generated are accurate, complete, and reconcile to the General Ledger. As requested, perform ad-hoc analytical support, such as: analyzing inventory trends at various data levels, testing inventory reserve levels for appropriateness and diving into the Orthopaedics supply chain to understand product fluctuations Support business on implementation and monitoring of Internal Controls and other Compliance requirements. Ensure all Company policies are followed completely and accurately. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley and all other applicable financial laws and regulations, company policies and implement corrective actions Maintain up-to-date process documentation that follow changes in the business; may require updating or creating advanced Excel formulas and/or Power Bi workspaces or reports What you need: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 3-5 years of experience in a finance function in a matrix international company (preferably American or Multinational company) Public Accounting experience a plus Advanced proficiency with Excel (required) . Proficiency with Oracle, SAP S4 Hana and/or SAP BW (required) Ability to interpret and analyze data accurately and efficiently Fluency in English required Strong ability to coordinate action across dispersed workforce and highly matrixed organization Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management Effective problem-solving skills Prefered: CPA certification Experience researching and applying GAAP Manufacturing experience preferred Travel Percentage: 10% Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and, together with its customers, is driven to make healthcare better. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
