This position reports to: Production Engineering Manager __ Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory) In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a function focused on the optimization of the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment. Each day, you will ensure that the production process aligns with the project targets, approves the design, both for internal or external developed processes and performs the final test in accordance with the project’s data. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring the efficiency of all external production processes. The work model for the role is: #LI-OnSite This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon. You will be mainly accountable for: Design and implement optimized plant layouts that maximize productivity, reduce material movement, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Lead operational excellence initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process optimization, waste reduction, 5S audits, and productivity improvement projects. Lead operational and capital investment (CapEx) projects, including financial feasibility analysis, execution monitoring, savings realization, and results reporting. Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers; negotiate commercial agreements and oversee procurement of tooling, equipment, and services while monitoring supplier performance. Ensure compliance with operational safety requirements through hazard reduction initiatives, incident action closure, Safety Observation Tours (SOT), Management of Change (MOC), Safety Work Plans, and other applicable safety controls. Simulate production lines and manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, validate capacity assumptions, and support operational decision-making. Implement, configure, and maintain manufacturing digitalization solutions, including RFID, SFX/SFC, SAP routings, and other Industry 4.0 technologies to improve traceability, visibility, and process efficiency.
Qualifications
for the role (Mandatory) Bachelors Degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, industrial or similar engineering. 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence. 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical and/or operational teams. Proven experience in plant layout design, line balancing, capacity planning, and material flow optimization.
Experience
leading continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives with measurable business impact.
Experience
with production systems and manufacturing processes, including routings, labor standards and process documentation.
Experience
managing CapEx projects, including equipment procurement, installation, and project execution. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools, including Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, and root cause problem solving. Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing KPIs, OEE, cycle time, efficiency, productivity, and capacity metrics.
Experience
