The Piedmont Research Station is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic IV to perform work involving multiple highly skilled trade specialties in the service, maintenance, and repair of equipment, buildings, and infrastructure associated with agriculture research projects conducted at the station. This position will also provide labor support to the Crops Unit. Primary responsibilities include: • Repairs on vehicles and agricultural farm equipment • Preventive maintenance program for vehicles and equipment • Buildings and ground maintenance • Provide labor support for agricultural crop production Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $35,596 - $53,733 Knowledge of highly skilled trade specialties in the service, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and farm equipment Knowledge of highly skilled trade specialties in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and fabrications Knowledge of agricultural crop production Ability to operate and use basic tools and farm equipment Ability to identify and solve technical problems related to maintenance and repairs of equipment Must possess or qualify for certification within twelve months of employment: Forklift driver’s certificate Respirator qualified Click Here to Learn more about State Employee Benefits.
