Associate Manager - Record to Report
Job description
Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite The Associate Manager will be responsible for leading statutory and corporate accounting processes for the Polish entities and managing a team of 4 accounting professionals. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Polish Accounting Standards and the ability to independently prepare Polish statutory financial statements. The Associate Manager will support the local accounting team by coaching, guiding, and developing team members, responding to complex accounting queries, and ensuring high-quality accounting and reporting deliverables. What you will do: Accounting and Reporting Lead general accounting activities for the Polish entities, including preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts. Independently prepare annual financial statements in accordance with Polish Accounting Standards. Take ownership of accounting and reporting activities for the assigned Polish set of books. Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Ensure proper documentation supporting account balances and transactions to facilitate efficient review and audit of books and records. Coordinate the statutory audit process for the Polish entities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests. Respond to complex accounting queries and provide accounting guidance to the team. Implement action plans resulting from audits, process improvements, simplification, and standardization initiatives. Month-end and Year-end Close Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the Polish entities. Ensure financial information is reviewed to identify issues impacting accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Review financial reports in line with Divisional and Corporate reporting requirements. Supervise the correctness and compliance of statutory and corporate reporting deliverables. Internal Controls and Compliance Own the risk and control matrix for the assigned area. Ensure all core processes are documented, with risk and control points clearly identified. Ensure an efficient and effective system of internal controls to maintain compliance with SOX 404, anti-corruption / anti-bribery laws and regulations, Stryker policies and procedures, and any other relevant laws and regulations. Education
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Strong knowledge of Polish Accounting Standards. Good understanding of US GAAP would be an advantage. Familiarity with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and/or other internal control concepts. Familiarity with SAP, JDE 9.2, and Hyperion would be preferable. Fluent English and Polish Professional certification in accounting, such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, would be an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in statutory accounting, general ledger, financial reporting, or audit. Proven hands-on experience in preparing Polish statutory financial statements independently.
Experience
in a manufacturing company would be strongly preferred.
Experience
in a multinational company, shared service center, or Big 4 audit firm would be an advantage. Previous experience managing or coordinating a team of accounting professionals.

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
